A Sophisticated Socializing Place With a Patio in the Heart of Gold Coast
A sophisticated socializing place with a huge patio in the heart of Gold Coast. This is where the who’s who dine on grilled Patagonian toothfish and rock lobster bolognese, or splurge on a twenty-course omakase menu.
LUXBAR serves elevated bar food including Gibsons steak, burgers and pan pizza. Sit at the street-side patio for a front-row seat to the busy Rush st traffic.
1. Rick Shores
If you’ve ever chatted to a Gold Coast local, there’s a strong chance they’ve chewed your ear off about Rick Shores. And for good reason, it’s a flag bearer of the regions new standard in modern Asian fusion dining.
Its iconic beachfront location in chi-chi Burleigh Heads is stunning but it’s the food that really gets people talking. Opening in 2016 with a Southeast Asian menu, the restaurant quickly established itself as a leading light for a whole new style of eating along the region’s iconic coastline.
Under James Brady’s sage-like hand, the menu has since shifted to a more pan-Asian offering with influences from Vietnam, Malaysia and India. You’ll still find the now-ubiquitous fried bug rolls of course but now there’s also kingfish sashimi, Madras-spiced duck and charred West Australian octopus on the cards. The wines are equally as impressive, with a fine selection of hard-to-find drops. A hefty list of cocktails rounds out the drink options.
2. LuxBar
LUXBar is a traditional American restaurant with vintage Golden Age panache. The checkerboard floors, black marble accents and wood-and-brass two-story space echoes the simplistic elegance of Adolf Loos. The food follows suit, with luscious filet mignon sliders and impossibly crispy, impeccably juicy fried chicken presented without fanfare.
The bar is the highlight, with a seasonal menu and an extensive selection of handcrafted cocktails that run especially deep in whiskey and bourbon. The menu also includes a “Build Your Own Manhattan” option, and the thoughtful wine list and beer selection emphasize local, sustainable sourcing.
Located in the heart of Chicago’s Rush Street restaurant scene, LUXBar serves all-natural classic comfort food and handcrafted cocktails in a sophisticated saloon setting. With a Bar Area fitting 20, the Fireplace Room fitting 60 and the entire upstairs fitting 100, this Gold Coast spot is ideal for intimate private events.
3. Commune Cafe
If you are a fan of coffee and light food, this is the place for you. You can order bacon and eggs, acai bowls, and sandwiches. This is also a family-friendly restaurant. They also serve delicious desserts and drinks. They have Campos coffee, and they use fresh ingredients. They also offer a variety of breads, such as banana and walnut loaf.
They also sell kombucha, which is an organic fermented tea. The menu is very diverse, and the staff is friendly. They are also a great place for vegetarians. Commune Cafe is located on 1844 Gold Coast Highway, Burleigh Heads.
With its funky alternative vibe and eco friendly focus, Commune is the place to be for anyone who wants to enjoy good food, excellent coffee, and a beautiful environment. Featuring colourful decor and a breezy outdoor area with seating both indoors and outdoors, this is a cafe that will put a spring in your step.
4. The Bellevue
The bellevue is now open in the space that once housed Tavern on Rush. Landlord Jim Banks and business partner Fred Barbara declined to say how much they invested in the new eatery, but they did reveal that it would be going in a different direction than its predecessor.
Designed by national hospitality design firm Knauer Incorporated, The Bellevue is a mix of brass, leather and velvet. The second-floor restaurant features balconies for open-air dining, and the first floor includes a 100-seat patio.
With the downtown skyline of Seattle to the west and Issaquah and the Cascade mountains to the east, Bellevue offers pristine natural beauty with big city amenities. It’s a safe, walkable community that welcomes global corporations like Boeing, Microsoft, Symetra Financial and Overlake Hospital. A variety of welcoming hotels and restaurants, a vibrant nightlife scene and high-end shopping make Bellevue an ideal place to live, work and play. The Meydenbauer Convention Center and numerous parks add to the fun.
